The Girl Behind the Camera

About Me

I am a stay-at-home-mom embarking on a journey of turning something I love into more than just a hobby.  I have always enjoyed photography and capturing moments–and now instead of just doing it for myself, I’m offering my eye to others.  Babies, kids, seniors, families, pets…I welcome all types of subjects and challenges.

My “Take” on Portraits

I have always had a special interest in photography, particularly with people and animals as the subject.  After having my child, I became more interested in capturing portraits versus simply “taking pictures” of everyday activities and events (although, there are hundreds of these types of shots floating around my house…on my computer…other people’s houses…you get the idea!)

So, what better way to get a great keepsake and marker of the passage of time than to have “professional” photos taken of my growing boy?  The problem was, I didn’t particularly care for the posed, staged, gray-blue background offered at so many mall studios…and yet wasn’t sure I wanted to shell out an enormous amount of money for an independent photographer to come to my house.  I wanted something in between…shots of my son (and family) playing outside, posed against natural backgrounds, candid profiles.

Although I can offer more formal portraits, I love concentrating on outdoor settings with unique and creative backgrounds.  For this reason, I am willing to travel either to you, or to a chosen location (or two!) to obtain those amazing shots we all want of our families, children, and pets.
